You can find details of the key areas listed below:

Staffing Policy Committee

The main committee with responsibility for the governance of staffing matters.  SPC develops and approves the University's HR policies, procedures and practices.  It also approves promotions and the award of increments.

Staff Management Group

Requests for honorary titles, study leave and leave of absence are considered and approved, and probationary reports of academic staff are considered.

Equal Opportunities Committee

This group frames, recommends, and reviews appropriate policies to the University in areas pertaining to equal opportunities.  It also regularly monitors equalities data.

Promotion Committees

Requests for promotion are considered at individual committees based on the grade and category of employment of the individual member of staff.

Merit Award Committees

Requests for accelerated and discretionary increments are considered, as well as achievement bonuses.

Remunerations Committees

The remuneration of professorial and grade 10 staff is reviewed, together with the arrangements for responsibility payments to office holders.

Further information on all of the University's Committees is published within the governance area of the corporate website.
