2 Electronic Bank Transfer
For Students Invoiced in £ Sterling (GBP)
a. Travelex/Pay24/7 - Bank Transfer (from overseas)
Bank transfer is the easiest and most cost effective method of payment if you are sending money from overseas. The University, in conjunction with TRAVELEX, offers the Pay 24-7 service which allows you to know the exact cost of your tuition fees in your local currency, or where relevant in dollars (US), at a rate guaranteed for 72 hours.
Please note : this is not an on line payment facility. You still need to go to your bank to arrange payment.
To use this service you will need to:
- Know your 9-digit University of Leicester student number and the exact amount of your tuition or accommodation fees in UK £ sterling (GBP)
- Click on the TRAVELEX logo below, this will take you to the Pay 24-7 site hosted by TRAVELEX
- Follow the on-screen instructions, completing your personal details
- Once you have entered the required information TRAVELEX will give you a quote in your local currency, or where relevant in dollars (US), for your payment together with a reference number. You will need to print your TRAVELEX quote and reference number out and take it with you to your bank within 72 hours to arrange for payment to be made to Travelex Global Business Payments Ltd. They will then forward your payment to the University of Leicester.
You should arrange for payment to be made at least two weeks before you are due to register with the University. If this is not possible you should notify the University Cashier’s Office at dlcashiers@le.ac.uk . Transfers received less than two weeks before registration will still be accepted but this may delay your registration with the University.

You must quote your 9-digit University of Leicester student number, full name and programme of study on the bank transfer.
Payment should be made at least two weeks before you register with the University as, while such payments will be accepted, transfers received later than two weeks before registration may not be receipted on your student record in time and you may therefore experience delay in registering with the University.
Please ensure that any bank charges incurred in making the transfer are paid when the transaction is made. You will be invoiced for any bank charges that fall on the University.
