Servicing of University Vehicles

University vehicles are to be serviced in accordance with their handbook and service intervals. Due to the relative lack of miles driven by some vehicles the interval period for servicing may be extended by the vehicle's Line Manager subject to a risk assesssment to ensure the vehicle is safe to drive and operate.

Line Managers responsible for the vehicles are to ensure their vehicles are booked in for service at the correct time.  They are responsible for delivery and collection to the appropriate garage.

Servicing Garages

Vehicles within their manufacturers warranty period are to be serviced by the Main Dealer.  Those out of warranty are to be serviced by the University's preferred supplier, Wilton Street Regal. This garage is located at 19 Wilton Street, Leicester, LE1 3NP. Telephone 0116 262 0936.

Details of all garages authorised to carry out works for the University are as follows:

MOTs

Departments will be advised by the Estates Divsion when MOTs are due.  Departments are to arrange their own MOT at Wilton Street Regal Garage and arrange delivery/collection.

Repairs

Vehicles suffering damage or needing repair are to be repaird by either the Main Dealer if under warranty or by Wilton Street Regal Garage. The Insurance Office is to be informed of any damage being repaired under an insurance claim and seek their advice prior to repair.

Bodywork repairs are normally to be carried out by Rydal Street Bodyworks Ltd.
