Car Park Closures and Traffic Management
Please note that whilst we try to keep this page accurate and to forewarn you of road closures that affect access to the University, maintenance of the highways in the City of Leicester is under the control of Leicester City Council and not of the University. The Council publishes weekly bulletins about forthcoming road works on its news page.
Beside Attenborough Tower - 18 Aug-19 Sep 14
A contractors compound will be set up below the Attenbough Tower in the Engineering Car Park which will remove 5 parking spaces from 18th August to 19th September 2014. Staff are asked to park elsewhere on Main Site for the duration of the works.
Main Site (Physics) Car Park - Aug/Sep 2014
A few spaces will be unavailable in the Physics Car Park near the Charles Wilson steps so a contractor's compound can be created. This work is anticipated to take place12th August to 12th September.
Bennett Car Park - Re-roofing Aug - Oct 2014
Parts of Bennett Car Park will be fenced off for the re-roofing project between August and October. There should be enough spaces elsewhere on Main Site for those affected.
Main Site (Engineering /Design Block) Car Park July - Sep 2014
The car park spaces along the Engineering/Design Block will be out of use for scaffold erection for July - September 2014.
De Montfort Hall Car Park - Friday 5 Sep 2014
The DMH Car Park will be occupied by guest for the opening of the Cancer Research Centre at Henry Wellcome building on Friday 5th September, please park elsewhere on Main Site if this car park is full.
Parents Reception Weekend - 27/28 September 2014
The Parents' Reception weekend will take place on Saturday and Sunday 27th/ 28th September 2014. Parking will take place on Main Site and Welford Road.
FJB Car Park - Festival of Careers 6 - 10 Oct 2014
The Festival of Careers will take place in a marquee from 6th - 10th October 2014, the FJB Car Park will be out of use for this period
FJB Car Park - Careers Fair October 2014
Advanced warning that the Careers Fair Marquee will be in position on the FJB Car Park from Friday 31st October 2014 - Sunday 9th November 2014.
De Montfort Hall Car Park - 22 Dec-1 Jan 2015
De Montfort Hall Car Park will be closed for the Pantomime from 22nd December and reopen on 2nd January 2015. Parking will be available on Main Site and Welford Road if required.
UCAS Conference 20 - 24 April 2015
A large UCAS Conference for up to 4,000 people will be held Wednesday 22nd and Thursday 23rd April 2015. A marquee will be erected on the FJB Car Park from 20th - 24th April and for the Conference itself on 22nd and 23rd April Welford Road Car Park will be full of visitors. Alternative staff parking will be available at Brookfield, please make alternative arrangements for travel if possible as parking will be in short supply.
De Montfort Hall Car Park - 'Simon Says' Event - 24 - 27 July 2015
Next year De Montfort Hall Car Park will be unavailable to the Unversity on Friday 24th July and Monday 27th July 2015 to enable the 'Simon Says' event to take place. Alternative parking will be available on Main Site and Welford Road.
Occasional Maintenance and Repairs - Some spaces in the FJB, Bennett, Charles Wilson, Sports Centre and MSB car parks are often cordoned off by the Estates Division to accommodate site compounds. Some spaces will also be taken by contractor vehicles. Parking for contractors is controlled by permit, please contact Security by emailing email@example.com or phoning 2023 if you notice vehicles parked without a permit.
De Montfort Hall Car Park
De Montfort Car Park - This car park opens at 7.00am and closes at 6.00pm daily and is closed on several working days during the year for othere events. Closed at weekends. The car park will only be manned from 7.00am to 11.00am each day and will now be part of the University's Car Park Enforcement system meaning that those without a valid staff or visitors permit may be charged.
Regent College Car Park
Regent College Car Park - This car park opens at 6.00am and closes at 6.00pm each day. Closed at weekends. Some disruption to access may be caused during the College's construction works - please see signs in the car park for more details.
