Fairtrade Status

The University fully supports the Fairtrade initiative and sells Fairtrade produce throughout its outlets on campus. Because of its commitment to the cause the University has been awarded Fairtrade certification.

There has been a collaborative effort at the University between the Environment Team, RACS and the Students Union, to further the Fairtrade movement at the institution. This has included holding promotional stalls, taste testing events and film screenings to raise awareness about issues relating to trade justice. The University also sits on the Leicester wide Fairtrade steering group which focusses on maintaining the Fairtrade city certification which Leicester has been granted
