Course aims
- Build up your knowledge of both academic and everyday vocabulary
- Develop your ability to guess the meanings of words and phrases
- Develop your ability to use vocabulary appropriately in both speaking and writing
- Introduce you to a range of learning resources and show you how to use them effectively (dictionaries, books, concordances, the Internet, the Academic Word List)
- Help you recognise when and how your mother tongue can, and cannot, help you
