Course aims
Explore the impact of the media on the use of English- Examine the relationship between the Arts and industry, and between high and low culture
- Consider a range of issues affecting the relationship between English and the media, including legal restrictions, how the media communicates bias, and the impact of political correctness
- Learn practical writing skills, such as how to produce press releases, flyers, reviews and newsletters
Who is this course for?
- These courses are open to all Erasmus and Study Abroad students for university credits.
- Students should have an upper-intermediate level of English (IELTS 6.0 or equivalent).
Assessment
Students are assessed on written and oral work completed during the course.
- Writing: three pieces of written work
- Speaking: two oral projects
- Students are expected to attend all the sessions
