Catering Services teamed up with researchers in the Department of Cancer Studies and Molecular Medicine to bring you a taste of their work with curry spice turmeric, long used in folk medicine to help with a variety of ailments.

Researchers Professor Karen Brown and Dr Lynne Howells are looking into the potential role of turmeric – active ingredient curcumin – in the prevention and treatment of cancer. Find out more about the science behind the project or view a list of the team's research publications.

Our Spice for Life range was launched on Thursday 13 March 2014.

If you see our bright yellow coloured sandwiches or flapjacks in our outlets, just know they have been spiced with turmeric for that added goodness.
