Leicester Conferences has picked up another award at the Leicester and Leicestershire Excellence in Tourism Awards 2013.
The Business Tourism category is aimed at organisations at the forefront of the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions sector of the tourism industry. In particular, it seeks to reward innovation in products and services, and improvements to quality and infrastructure.
Emma Rathbone, Conference Sales Manager, said, ‘To win this award is excellent news for Leicester Conferences. We have made great strides in recent years, with major investment in our facilities and improvements in the service we offer.’
Recent developments at Leicester Conferences include the refurbishment of Stamford Court at Oadby, 4* campus accreditation for our en suite accommodation at Bowder Court and John Foster Hall, the refurbishment of Digby Hall, the acquisition of a minibus used to transport conference delegates, and the use of the University’s new sports centre. We have also significantly improved the quality of our food, as demonstrated by Executive Head Chef, Rob Bean, winning the Craft Guild of Chefs’ Cost Sector Chef of the Year 2013.
The Awards, created by Leicester Shire Promotions and now in their third year, celebrate the excellent work that a wide range of attractions, accommodation providers, restaurants, pubs and event organisers undertake to ensure their customers have the best possible experience.
Leicester Conferences have also recently entered three categories in the 2014 Meetings & Incentive Travel Awards – Best UK Conference Centre, Best Academic Venue and Best Conference and Banqueting Staff. A new three-week menu has been introduced in chi restaurant, offering tantalizing tastes from international street food to mouth-watering dishes from countries worldwide. Located on the ground floor of the Charles Wilson building, chi restaurant has something for everyone, including our ever-popular all-day breakfasts.
