Whether it’s developing the skills students need to succeed on their course, or in life beyond university, the Careers Service is here to support and facilitate academic, personal and career development.
Our services are grouped into three broad themes, helping students to:
- succeed in their studies
- gain experience
- develop their career
Students need to address these themes simultaneously, rather than one at a time. We provide expertise and support directly to students and to academic departments to help you to support your students in this process.
Here to help you
Our staff are aligned to the University's college structure and for each college there is a contact for each of our three themes. Click on the relevant link below to contact the Careers Service staff for your college for more information:
- Arts, Humanities and Law
- Medicine, Biological Sciences and Psychology
- Science and Engineering
- Social Sciences
Whether it's online materials, themed workshops and events, or tailored one-to-one advice and guidance, there are numerous ways for both campus-based and distance learning students, at all levels, to interact with our service. No less important, however, than our central service provision, is the extensive work in the curriculum and Personal Development Planning (PDP) that we do in collaboration with academic departments.
Employability initiatives
As well as helping you to support your students we offer other services to University staff:
- Graduate Internship Programme - helping you to find interns
