RefWorks for arts and social science students

Workshop provided by the Library

Who is this workshop for?

Anyone who needs to keep track of what they are reading and then cite these sources in their own work.  This workshop is an introduction to RefWorks – software which runs in your Web browser and helps you manage publication references.  It is aimed specifically at arts and social science - as referencing styles differ between subject disciplines.

Why come to this session?

RefWorks can save you a lot of time by helping you to organise, manage and cite references

What will it cover?

  • How to register for RefWorks and download the Write-N-Cite toolbar

  • How to input references manually; from a database and from the Library catalogue

  • How to create a bibliography automatically in Word, using the Write-N-Cite toolbar

  • How to create an independent bibliography

Do I need to do anything to prepare?

It would be useful for you to bring a couple of sample references with you and to find out which reference style (e.g. Harvard) your School or department uses.

When is this workshop next happening?
