EndNote for scientists
Workshop provided by the Library
Who is this workshop for?
Anyone who needs to keep track of what they are reading and then cite these sources in their own work. This workshop is an introduction to Endnote – software which helps you manage publication references. It is aimed specifically at scientists - as referencing styles differ between subject disciplines.
Why come to this session?
EndNote can save you a lot of time by helping you to organise, manage and cite references.
What will it cover?
- How to download EndNote and the Word toolbar on to your CFS account.
- How to input references manually, from a bibliographic database, from the library catalogue, and how to import a website reference.
- How to create a bibliography automatically in Word, using the Cite While You Write toolbar.
- How to create an independent bibliography.
Do I need to do anything to prepare?
It would be useful for you to bring a couple of sample references along with you, and to find out what reference style (e.g. Harvard) your subject area uses.
When is this workshop next happening?
