Profile
Ranjit Kaur is the Student Enterprise Coordinator within the Work-related Learning team; part of the Careers service. After successfully delivering a two year project Social Enterprise Way, Ranjit and Colleagues have won further funding to deliver a follow on project, expanding the delivery through Working in Social Enterprise project (WISE). Her role involves managing and coordinating WISE, funded through European Regional Development Fund. WISE is a collaborative project working together with the Cooperative and Social Enterprise Development Agency (CaSE Da), Voluntary Action Leicester and the University of Leicester. In this unique partnership the University provide opportunities to widen the knowledge and understanding of third sector and social enterprise organisations amongst students and provide practical and experiential learning through bespoke project delivery.
Ranjit’s role entails brokering and matching a high calibre of students to employers and bespoke projects, also training and mentoring the students through the programme which is accredited by the Leicester Award for Business and Enterprise. She also manages the teams marketing activity including presence at various career fairs.
In an advisory capacity Ranjit provides support, guidance and coaching to the SIFE team (Students in Free Enterprise)
Prior to joining the University of Leicester, Ranjit spent her time working on the National Apprenticeship Programme as a brokerage service for adults to gain a qualification via work based learning.
