Leicester Graduate Intern to give workshop at National Conference on Student Volunteering and Social Action
Gareth Hughes, currently on the successful Leicester Graduate Internship Programme will be giving a session on running a student-led project.
Gareth got involved with volunteering early in his second year of university after being dragged to an event by a friend. After this he got a taste for it and became more and more heavily involved throughout the year, eventually successfully running for the position of Head of Marketing on the Volunteering Association Executive Committee.
After being heavily involved in a number of projects and events over his third year, he decided to apply for the position of Volunteering Events Co-ordinator at the University with the desire of putting as much in to volunteering as he had got out of it. He now organises the Community Challenge programme for the University, organising and running single day volunteering events for Leicester students.
