Come to this information session to find out more about this exciting opportunity that gives successful applicants the chance to see the real China and experience Chinese culture first hand.

Enthusiastic and open minded individuals are required to teach English to Chinese children. This is part of a very flexible and competitive package which also includes visits to historic monuments and tourist attractions such as the Great Wall, the Forbidden City and the Olympic park.

Flights, Visas, visits, training, accommodation and meals are all included in the package which is all arranged by Birmingham College meaning applicants have as little hassle as possible when preparing for the trip.

Applicants are required  to teach for approximately 20 hours per week. (Extra time will be needed for planning and preparing lessons.) No previous teaching experience is needed as basic teacher training is provided in the UK as well as school inductions when in China.

An ideal applicant should have English as their native language and be willing to adapt to and experience new cultures and traditions.

The programme is highly flexible meaning that there are no set departure dates so applicants are free to choose when is best for them to go. (Although we try to arrange group flights as this is often easier for applicants who are taking part in such a programme for the first time.) The duration can last for either 6, 8 or 12 weeks depending on the choice of the applicant.

Previous applicants have described the programme as life changing, giving them a new found respect and admiration for China, travel and teaching.

The entire package costs only £1000, and covers almost all expenses applicants could occur, including:

-Return flights to China
- Visa application costs
- All food and accommodation for the duration of stay
- A placement in a Chinese school or centre of education
- Visits to the Great Wall, Forbidden City and Olympic park
- Basic teacher training

Upon completion applicants will be presented with a Birmingham College certificate for applicants to keep for their own records.

Applications are welcome from students of any department who wish to take part in the programme.
