Changing or leaving your course
Every year some students decide that, for one reason or another, they are not on the right course...
Many students consider changing or leaving their course and, if you are in this situation, you are not alone. Most students are able to do this but may need some help in doing so.
There are many reasons for wanting to change or leave your course, including:
- The subject you are studying is not right for you.
- You are having difficulty with the subject and may have failed some exams.
- Your career aims have changed and the course is no longer appropriate.
- Financial issues have made it difficult for you to manage.
- Getting a job is a more attractive option.
- This University environment does not agree with you and you would like to move to a different University.
- You have found it difficult making friends and feel lonely and isolated.
- Health or disability issues have made studying difficult.
With all the above, it is important that you think things through and consult others before making an immediate decision about your future.
