University of Leicester
Jobs at the University of Leicester (for example part-time work in the library) can be found on the Personnel website. We also post part-time vacancies on JOBSonline.
Students' Union
The Students' Union website has a job vacancies section, which advertises part-time opportunities in the Students' Union, for example, the Bars and Union shop.
Employment agencies may also have part-time vacancies. You can search on the yell.com website for contact details of recruitment agencies in the area. Examples include:
- A La Carte Recruitment (www.alacarte-recruitment.co.uk) specialise in placements in catering, food manufacturing, commercial and industrial environments.
- Select Appointments (www.select.co.uk) specialising in all areas of secretarial and administration, call and contact centre, accountancy and finance, sales and marketing, legal and medical recruitment.
Leicester Mercury/Other local newspapers
The Leicester Mercury (http://jobs.thisisleicestershire.co.uk) is a local daily newspaper which advertises job vacancies. The main job section is in Wednesday's paper. You may find part-time opportunities in here. Reference copies of the Leicester Mercury are held in the Careers Service or can be bought from local newsagents.

Many shops, bars and restaurants employ students. Sometimes these may be advertised in the local paper, but most often they aren't advertised. Take your CV and rehearse your pitch before you go!
