Chance to meet four guest speakers who are the managing editors of independent literary publishers, and key figures within the field of independent publishing:

Jeremy Poynting - Peepal Tree Press
Kadija George - Sable Litmag
Becky Nana Ayebia Clarke - Ayebia Publishing
Nii Parkes - Flipped Eye Publishing

The event will consist of a brief introduction from each speaker, followed by a roundtable discussion among the speakers. Discussion will then be opened up to the audience and you will have the opportunity to ask questions.

The roundtable discussion will focus on the following areas:
- The day-to-day activities of a publishing house: e.g. working with creative writers, the editorial process and publicity strategies
-  The role of independent publishers in shaping a black British literary tradition
-The future of independent publishing and the impact of new digital technologies on the publishing industry

This event is organised by the School of English but students from all departments are welcome. Places are limited, please sign up if you would like to attend.
