Open World of Research: Complying with Funder Requirements

Information

Course description

Course
Overview

There are a myriad requirements, policies and benefits behind the major research funding bodies’ push for open sharing of research outputs.  From open access through mandates to post-project funder monitoring and the REF, it can be a confusing task to understand what is required of you and when.

This session will explore the internal and external requirements and benefits associated with open research outputs. We will take a look at the external forces, requirements and publishing environment shifts that ensure that making research outputs freely available is an essential activity for all research active staff. We will also explore the University’s open access mandate and the purpose and benefits of the Leicester Research Archive (LRA) in detail. This session will be a very useful guide for researchers who publish research articles and/or work on or hold research grants.
