19 year old Brett Koenig, who studies Law at the University, was part of the England team that defeated host nation Italy 4-3 in the European Dodgeball Championships 2012 in August, winning the title for England for the third successive year in a row.

The tournament was played to Italian rules and was held in a purpose-built, netted dodgeball court. National teams from Italy, England, Scotland, Switzerland and Wales all returned from the two preceding years of the tournament, and teams from France and Romania joined for the first time. Koenig, who plays for Lutterworth Dodgeball, said the victory was the best moment of his sporting life.

Koenig hopes to see dodgeball become an Olympic sport in the future, and is looking into going through the official channels to try and make it happen. Dodgeball is the fastest growing sport in the UK.
