We have been awarded the highly prestigious Carbon Saver Gold Standard for our commitments to carbon reduction.

An independent audit by CarbonSaver.org has given us a hugely impressive score of 92% and a five-star rating, which will strengthen our position in the Government’s Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) performance league table.

The audit acknowledged carbon reduction commitments across campus including the installation of biomass boilers, a University-wide Automated Metering and Targeting (AM&T) system, and the implementation of the BREEAM (BRE Environmental Assessment Method) ‘Excellent’ accreditation for all major new build projects  And that was before we opened our new 300-rack bicycle park!

The Carbon Saver standard recognises all of the work which is being done at the University towards implementing initiatives, making savings and achieving reductions to fulfil our legal requirements and our commitment to a 60% carbon reduction by 2020.
