An expert's view on the Garden's highlights, from Dr Richard Gornall.

It’s International Fascination of Plants Day on 18 May and to mark this first celebration of the wonders of the plant world, the University of Leicester is offering a free public mini-tour of its picturesque Botanic Garden in Oadby.

It’s ‘Director’s Choice’ tour will be led by the Director of the Botanic Garden himself, Dr Richard Gornall, and he will share with visitors his choice of the best of the Garden's collections.

This one hour tour is free, and there is no need to book in advance: just meet at the main gate on Glebe Road at 10am.

This is a wonderful opportunity to see the Garden with an expert and focus on a selection of plants chosen by the Director. Visitors will see some of the most important and interesting highlights of the Botanic Garden’s extensive collections and hear about their scientific importance and value to the Garden.
