Last chance to book for the Summer Reunion
With less than a week to go until the 2012 Summer Reunion, now is the time to book your place if you haven't done so already. Online bookings will close at midnight tonight (Monday 25 June). We can still take phone bookings during office hours until 5.00pm on Thursday but really, the sooner you book the better.
The Summer Reunion on Saturday 30 June is not just for former students. It's also open to staff and their families and to anyone who would like to have a fun and interesting day finding out more about what goes here at the University of Leicester.
As well as everything happening on campus - mini-lectures, demonstrations, a magic show and the Department of Chemistry's legendary ice cream! - there's an Open House at Embrace Arts on the same day. No need to book for this: just turn up and try your hand at different arts, or browse the crafts stalls, or enjoy the lunchtime music.
If you're making a weekend of it, on Sunday 1 July there's the annual Plant Sale and Family Day at the University's Botanic Garden in Oadby and/or a chance to travel back in time at the Burrough Hill archaeological dig open day. We also have a couple of nice concerts that weekend at Fraser Noble Hall in association with Embrace Arts: Knighton Chamber Orchestra (with choral accompaniment) performing Elgar, Finzi, Bliss and Garner on Friday and choral group Cantamici (with orchestral accompaniment) performing Handel, Taverner, Purcell, Britten, Vaughan Williams and Parry on Saturday.
It's all happening next weekend, so book now.
