Leicester graduates in the news: Bruce Micari
Korean War veteran.
The ‘Highland Park and Highwood’ section of last Thursday’s Chicago Tribune has a short Q&A with local resident Bruce Micari, a former journalist who studied here at Leicester back in 1965.
Before his time in Leicester, Mr Micari was part of the US Army’s Counterintelligence Corps. In 1955-56 he spent a period of service in Korea where he was responsible for interrogating enemy deserters. His war memoirs were published in electronic form in 1995, entitled Winter of Dishonor.
He is now retired but recently tracked down and renewed contact with some of the men from his old unit.
