Radio Leicester broadcaster.

John Florance is a household name throughout Leicestershire as one of BBC Radio Leicester’s longest-serving broadcasters.

Currently working as Radio Leicester’s Faith Producer, John is also a Warden of Leicester Cathedral and has published a book on Getting Started in Radio as well as a volume of poetry.

He came to Leicester in the late 1970s as a Sixth Form College teacher, and worked at Wyggeston and Queen Elizabeth I College next to the University’s main campus. He also counts our very own Sir Alec Jeffreys as one of his best interview guests of all time. On top of this, he can be found tutoring classical music courses at the University’s Embrace Arts.

Today, he cements his connection to the University with an honorary Doctorate of Law.
