Leicester triumphs at business event
The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Sir Bob Burgess, won a lifetime achievement award and a former student, Suleman Sacranie, also picked up top prize at a Midlands business awards ceremony.
Professor Burgess was honoured with a Lifetime Contribution to Midlands Business Award at an event attended by 500 people from, business, academia and civic life.
The Midlands Business Awards recognise outstanding contributions to business, industry and society. Previous winners are Lord Digby Jones; Geoffrey Robinson MP and Lord Bhattacharyya, head of the Warwick Manufacturing Group.

Former student Suleman Sacranie was also named Entrepreneur of the Year at the ceremony, for the business he launched with the assistance of the Student Support and Development Service.
