Greyfriars Project - update, Thursday 30 August
Today the archaeologists from University of Leicester Archaeological Services carried out further hand cleaning of the archaeological deposits. They are beginning to clarify the alignment of the stone walls which have been revealed.
A number of floor levels have also been identified and it is clear that the features under investigation are of medieval date.
A press briefing will take place at 11.00am tomorrow (Friday August 31) for a review of the project so far.
