Alumni events that bring past and future together
A Leicester graduate and former sabbatical officer has written in the Guardian Professional about the importance of alumni departments in helping graduates network.
Alex Smith, a member of the our Alumni committee, wrote a piece for the Guardian in July discussing how past alumni can contribute to today’s student experience.
Now he’s back with some thoughts on how graduate employability is fast becoming the remit of alumni, as well as careers, departments.
Reunion events such as the University of Leicester’s Alumni Receptions at the Mandarin Hotel are ideal networking opportunities and, says Alex, the place for established and successful alumni to see the ambition and earnestness of today’s graduates firsthand.
