Two opportunities for interdisciplinary debate
Two seminars this week will combine specialist research with insights from other disciplines.
On Wednesday, Professor Terry Robinson of the University’s Department of Physics and Astronomy will give a presentation entitled ‘Quantum Mechanics and the Age of Anxiety: Facing up to Reality’ in the Museum Studies Building. The session will give participants the opportunity to explore and discuss some implications of current thinking on quantum mechanics.
This event is part of the School of Education's Interdisciplinary Dialogues in Education; a series open to all academics and PhD research students across all disciplines and to anyone involved in education including administrators, practitioners and policy makers.

- Dr Toby Jenkins.
And on Thursday, Dr Toby Jenkins, Head of Biophysical Chemistry Research at the University of Bath, will discuss a research project currently taking place across five European countries; applying nano-biotechnology to the fabrication of an advanced wound dressing which will monitor whether a wound or burn is infected by bacteria.
This lecture is hosted by the University’s Centre for Interdisciplinary Science which brings together academic staff from the University’s College of Science and Engineering to provide events accessible to both undergraduates and non-experts with an interest in science, to raise awareness of current interdisciplinary research topics.
