Full programme of Botanic Garden events 2011.

If you have ever thought that what the outside of your home really needs is a hanging basket, here is your chance to make your own, courtesy of the University of Leicester’s famed Botanic Garden.

This Sunday, 22 May 2011, the Botanic Garden is hosting a Hanging Basket Workshop. It runs from 10.00am to 1.00pm and costs £25, with all materials supplied – including the plants.

A fortnight later, on 5 June 2011, there’s a Softwood Cuttings Workshop. You can learn how to take cuttings from the Botanic Garden’s collection of hardy fuschias and then take them home with you. You could even put them in the hanging basket you made. This workshop costs £10 and also runs 10.00am to 1.00pm.

If you are interested in either workshop, please call 0116 271 2933 or e-mail botanicgarden@le.ac.uk

The Botanic Garden has a full programme of events right through to the end of the year including art courses, horticultural workshops, plant fairs and family days. Please note that the annual Botanic Garden Lecture, which was scheduled for last week, will now be held in September (exact date TBC).
