Gamers' triple achievement at Union Awards scores +10 hit points
Our resident dungeonmasters were among those collecting prizes at the annual University of Leicester Students’ Union Awards.
Leicester Sabres, the Union games soc won the Recreational Society of the Year category at this week’s SU Awards and also took home Event of the Year for their one-day gaming convention Sabrecon - and then collected the top gong for Society of the Year.
Among other categories, the Kayaking Society were named Most Improved Society of the Year and our talented student drama soc LUTheatre won Performance Society of the Year.
Economics student Andre Lopes was named Officer of the Year for his work as Treasurer of Creative Spark, the SU society for artists of all sorts. Law Course Rep Charles du Couedic won Education Officer of the Year.
Owen Jones, Sabbatical Officers for Campaigns and Involvements, received a Lifetime Achievement Award and Martin Cullen, who was SU President 2005-2007, was awarded a Lifetime Membership.
