Leicester graduates in the news: Bridget Bean
Tampa Bay-based arts and entertainment website Creative Loafing has a profile of Bridget, who spent her undergraduate years studying German in our Department of Modern Languages.
Born in York and raised in Hull, Bridget followed her time in Leicester with a period of performing at Bradford Playhouse. In the mid-1990s she moved to Florida where she got married and studied acting at St Leo University. She took over the full-time role of General Manager at the Gorilla Theatre in 2005 where she has continued to act and direct, including a performance of Willy Russell’s Shirley Valentine in 2006 which won a Best of the Bay Award.
The new production of Shirley runs at the Gorilla Theatre from 15 April to 2 May 2010.
