Joining the Library

The Library exists to support the research, teaching and learning activities of the University and its primary purpose is, therefore, to provide services for the University's staff and students.

You need a valid Library card to gain entry into the Library building, to borrow books, to use some Library services and if you wish to use reciprocal access schemes with other libraries. The links below give more information about how to join the Library. Applications for membership may be made at the Library during staffed opening hours, except for students, who are issued with a dual Library card on registration. Please ensure you have valid proof of ID with you when applying to join. All members and visitors are required to abide by the Library Regulations.
