    This site allows you to search and read selected newspaper pages from 1836-1922 and find information about American newspapers published between 1690-present.
  • Early American Newspapers at the British Library
    These newspapers are available on microfilm at the British Library Newspaper Library at Colindale. You will need a British Library Reader's ticket to access them. Full text is available from 1900-1910 and you can find information about American newspapers published between 1690-present.

    A range of international newspapers can be searched here. Some text is only available on payment of a fee. Check whether we have free access via Nexis.

  • North Carolina Newspapers
    The North Carolina Newspaper Digitalization Project provides free access to the full text of a number of historic local and regional newspapers published in the 18-19th centuries in North Carolina. They include key titles from cities like Edenton (1787-1801), Fayetteville (1798-1795), Hillsboro (1786), New Bern (1751-1804), Salisbury (1799-1898), and Wilmington (1765-1816).
