Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions

Depositing

  • How do I deposit publications?
  • How can I get help depositing through IRIS?
  • If I add my work can I still publish or use it elsewhere?
    • Yes, adding it to the LRA does not stop you reusing it; subject to your publisher's license agreement conditions.
  • I have printed publications, can they be scanned?
  • I've published in an open access title, can I still add my work?
    • Yes, although we will still need to check the license as some open access titles do not allow for archiving.
  • Can I add work written collaboratively?
    • Yes, unless you have published in an open access title. In that case you should seek permission from all of the authors first.

Formats

  • What version of a publication should I provide the LRA with?
  • What formats does the LRA support?
  • Do I have to send materials already in PDF format?
    • For theses yes as it is a Graduate School requirement. For all other items the LRA will accept them in whatever format you provide them.
  • I have publications in a printed format, can they be scanned into the LRA?
    • Potentially but please contact us to discuss this further.
  • I've articles in languages other than English, can I place them in the LRA?

    • Yes, the LRA will happily accept items in any language.
