Simon leads our team. He is responsible for developing and managing the Library's and other University research collections and exploiting digital technologies to reach new audiences for these collections. Simon also provides advice to staff and students in the humanities on the use of digital technology in their research.
Simon has contributed to a number of research projects which have had digital outputs including the Dissenting Academies Project, Eighteenth-Century Devon: People and Communities Project and Changing Industries in Leicester's Cultural Quarter. As a historian he is interested in the religious and social history of Britain since the seventeenth century. He is involved in a number of Digital Humanities projects at Leicester, as listed below. He is an Associate of Dr Williams's Centre for Dissenting Studies and a member of the AHRC Peer Review College (2015-2018).
