Details of Library opening hours and services over the Easter vacation

Opening Hours

Full details of opening hours are available on the Library website. Opening until midnight resumes on  Saturday 25 March and 24/7 from Wednesday 19 April.

The Library is only closed on the Public Holidays Friday 14 April and Monday 17 April. On Thursday 13, Saturday 15, Sunday 16 and Tuesday 18 April we are open without staffed services so please be aware that you will not be able to gain access to the Library unless you are already a registered user.

Loans:

Students and staff may borrow an extra 5 items during the vacation, on request at the Service Desk during staffed service hours.

Book loans should be renewed on Tuesday 21 March to ensure they are not due back before the start of term.

If you would like to borrow or keep books over the vacation please check that they are not held for anyone else before you leave and renew on or after the 21 March.

You don’t have to wait until your books are due back, renew them before you leave. To do this online, log into your library account online.

If you leave Leicester please respect the request for items to be returned. Held books cannot be renewed, and you will be charged fines. If returning recalled books by post, please use a registered service.

In Leicester and need a book urgently over the vacation and all copies are on loan? Contact the Enquiry Service (details below) for help.

Vacation Postal Loan Service This will be available for items on hold that become available between Thursday 23 March and Tuesday 28 March.

Unable to visit the Library during the vacation? The Library has over 800,000 eBooks that can be found using the search box on our home page. Need to use a UK University Library whilst you are away? Apply online to use the SCONUL Access Scheme.
