26 October: Baroness Linklater
Baroness Linklater, Liberal Democrat peer, enjoyed lunch with Professor Sir Robert Burgess, Ms Jo Wood, Adrian Beck and Professor Mark Lester on 26 October 2011 before visiting the Department of Criminology and the Space Research Centre. NB. Baroness Linklater previously attended the Leicester Exchanges live event 'Should we Punish or Reform Offenders?' at the Tower of London, which featured Carol Hedderman from the Department of Criminology on the panel.
21 October: Chairman of Leicestershire County Council
Jackie Dickinson, Chairman of Leicestershire County Council, visited the School of Archaeology and Ancient History and the School of Biological Sciences on 21 October. 18 October: Icelandic Abassador
HE Ambassador Benedikt Jónsson from the Embassy of Iceland and his wife Ms Aðalheiður Óskarsdóttir visited the Department of Physics and Astronomy, the Space Research Centre and the Department of Geography on 18 October 2011. They met with Professor Sir Robert Burgess, Vice-Chancellor; Ms Jo Wood, Assistant Registrar; Dr Sue Page and Professor Tim Yeoman.
14 October: Mayor of Oadby and Wigston
Councillor Linda Broadley, Mayor of Oadby and Wigston Borough Council, and Councillor Frank Broadley visited the Department of Genetics and the Victorian Studies Centre on 14 October 2011.
