The posts will be overseen centrally and the Research Professors will be expected to meet with the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research and Enterprise) at six monthly intervals for progress updates. They will also be required to produce regular reports to the Research Policy Committee and adhere to existing College and Departmental structures as appropriate.
The posts will be subject to a review in January 2015, or as appropriate prior to this date.
Alongside the salary costs associated with these new Research Professorships the University will establish a centrally held fund to support the proposed research for three years, commencing January 2013. Alongside more basic costs associated with equipment, travel, subsistence and consumables, this fund will meet additional short-term costs that may be involved in setting up a sustainable research infrastructure in the form of a Research Centre.
