Success at Cambridge Model United Nations Conference

Praise for Leicester delegation from United Nations Society

The United Nations Society sent a delegation of six students to represent the University of Leicester at the Cambridge International Model United Nations Conference XV, held from the 29-31 January 2010.

Iva Angelova, the United Nations Society's MUN Coordinator chaired the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Committee. The delegation from Leicester were incredibly succesful at this conference, with Nerissa Tilouche receiving a Special Mention for her work, and Michaella Andrianasolo winning the Best Delegate Award in her committee.

Michealla Andrianasolo explains, "During the Cambridge Model United Nations my delegation explored a different facet of the works of the UN in the Special Court of Sierra Leone. As a Judge in this Court I had a challenging, thought-provoking and inspiring experience. It provided me with the opportunity to meet other university students from all over the UK to discuss and debate about individual and superior liability for crime against humanity. It was an amazing and unforgettable time, a week-end very well spent."
