The Statesman - Back in the reckoning - Life would have a tough time on Mars. The typical surface temperature of the planet varies from -125° Celsius during winter to 25° Celsius in summer. Dr Mark Sims of the University of Leicester says, "Mars was probably very much like the earth soon after it formed 4.5 billion years ago.
