Turkish Prime Minister attends University of Leicester lecture via video link
Dr Ipek Demir, Lecturer at the Department of Sociology, gave a lecture entitled 'Living in a Risk Society' to the students of Kadir Has University, Istanbul via video link. Also in the audience was the Prime Minister of Turkey, Tayyip Erdogan, who asked questions about risk, globalization and the recent banking crisis.
The lecture was introduced by Associate Professor Dr Sule Toktas on the Turkish side. Technical support was provided by the AVS department in Leicester and Education Technologist Sinem Senol at Kadir Has University.
