Professor Sir Alec Jeffreys nominated for Walk of Fame

The inventor of DNA fingerprinting Professor Sir Alec Jeffreys is among the icons in the frame for the city’s new Walk of Fame.

More than 400 nominations have been received for the first 10 Hollywood-style plaques proposed for Halford Street in the city centre. They will be revealed at the end of April.
