Xiaoqian Cai (2009-10)
"Victorian Studies is an interdisciplinary course which combines history, politics and economics as well as literature. The wide range of knowledge, provided by various talented, responsible and amiable teachers and professors in the department, has broadened my eyesight to a great extent. Besides, I enjoyed the enthralling experience of reading books of different subjects, among which you can always find your favourite, e.g. living conditions during the Industrial Revolution, the Reform Bills, Charles Dicken's novels, or Elizabeth Browning's poetry. I also appreciated the active class discussions in each session, as well as the valuable friendship among classmates from different cultural backgrounds."
Nazia Parveen (2006-07)
