  • Current Value of Old Money A series of resources to help you compare prices across time
  • DANGO Database of Archives of Non-Governmental Organisations since 1945
  • EH.Net This site includes a number of tools to enable you to assess the relative value of money - GDP, purchasing power, exchange rates etc - across time and place. Most useful are:
    • How much is that? - a variety of comparative values over time for the UK and US
    • Relative Values Calculator (UK Sterling or US Dollars) which will compute the 'real value' of the price, cost, or value of something over time and convert it from British Pounds to US Dollars, or vice versa
  • Europeana.eu Links to two million digital items. Europeana is a Thematic Network funded by the European Commission; originally known as the European digital library network (EDLnet), it is a partnership of 100 representatives of heritage and knowledge organisations and IT experts from throughout Europe
  • Historical Directories A digital library of eighteenth, nineteenth and early twentieth century local and trade directories
  • History On-Line hosted by the Institute of Historical Research (IHR); information resources for the teaching and learning of history, currently over 40,000 records providing details of books and articles, UK university lecturers (teachers), UK current and past research (theses) and links to websites and online resources

  • Metropolis Project An international forum for research and policy on migration, diversity and changing cities
  • NYPL Digital Gallery access to over 450,000 images digitized from primary sources and printed rarities in the collections of the New York Public Library, including illuminated manuscripts, historical maps, photographs, illustrated books, printed ephemera and more
  • Old-maps.co.uk Free access to first edition historical maps of Great Britain dated between 1846 and 1899
  • Royal Historical Society Bibliography an authoritative guide to what has been written about British and Irish history from the Roman period to the present day

  • Urban Portal An online gateway to research, events, and resources in urban social science (with a particular focus on research at the University of Chicago).
  • Visualising Urban Geographies - provides mapping tools for historians. It enables the use of digitized and geo-referenced maps in conjunction with historical information based on either addresses or districts.
