The Department has research groups in the following areas:

Research Unit on Civil Society (RUCS)

The Research Unit on Civil Society (RUCS) research group is focussed on Civil Society, both as a theoretical issue and as a set of empirical topics relating to the role of associations involved in advocacy and service delivery at local, national and European level.

Wellbeing and Health Research Group

The Wellbeing and Health Research Group is focussed on the premise that sociological research can and ought to contribute to the well-being of individuals, social organisations and societies.
