Research interests
My research interests are in sociological theory (with the main focus being on problems of social cooperation, public reasoning and conditions leading to the enrichment of democracy), sociology of memory and political sociology, particularly in issues of political change, social movements and retrospective justice. My current writing projects include a book which aims to enhance sociological understanding of the concept of vulnerability by mapping conditions of human vulnerability and discussing ways in which people cope with vulnerability.
Supervision interests
I am interested in hearing from potential PhD students intending to pursue research in sociological theory, sociology of trust, sociology of public intellectuals, sociology of memory, forgiveness and reconciliation, political change, dialogue and processes of democratisation (particularly in Eastern Europe).
