Research
- My PhD research explores the role of emotions in the perception of risks. Whether we individually perceive something as a risk (and especially as a risk to oneself) is highly subjective, and can be influenced by a wide range of psychological, sociological and institutional factors. Often our immediate reaction to a hazard is an emotional one. Does this affective evaluation heavily guide our overall perception of a risk? What causes a strong affective reaction? What do we worry about, and when do we worry?
- My PhD supervisors are Dr Briony Pulford and Dr Sarah White.
- My wider interests include judgment and decision-making, emotions, behavioural economics, critical thinking, and the history and communication of science.
