If you apply online, you will have the option to attach electronic copies of your additional documents to the application form.

Self funded students may apply at any time of the year, however, please bear in mind the timescales for application processing if you require a student visa.
Why do I need to fill out the Research Interests form?
This allows us to process your application form more quickly by knowing which groups you are interested in.
Why do I only have two choices of research groups?

What documents do I need to send with my application form?
You will need :
- Two references
- Copy of transcripts or recent results
- English Language Certificate, usually IELTS or TOEFL (if appropriate)

What if I don't have an IELTS or TOEFL qualification?
The University requires all applicants to have a minimum standard of English, as stated above. If you currently hold an English Language qualification other than IELTS or TOEFL please email us for more information.
The University does offer English Language courses, please see the link below for more details.
Who deals with my application?
Once your application has been received in the Departmental Office, it will be processed by Dr Sergei Nayakshin and Miss Kiri Rhodes. You will be contacted by email acknowledging receipt of your application and detailing any information which we still need. Your application will then be reviewed by the group reps, to which you have applied.
Who can I contact for more information?
In the first instance, please contact Kiri Rhodes (physics-pgrads@le.ac.uk). Should she not be able to answer your queries she will forward them on to the relevant person on your behalf.
