Departmental visits

If you are thinking of applying to Leicester, we strongly encourage you to visit! It's the best way for you to see exactly what we have to offer. We will give you a warm welcome, a full tour of the department and an introduction to our teaching and research facilities.

UCAS visit days and Open days

We have regular visits days throughout the year: UCAS visits days for those who have applied to study Physics at Leicester, and open days for those yet to make up their minds.

Both the open days, and the UCAS visits days follow a similar pattern. You will receive a talk from our admissions tutor, then we'll show you the department and Space Research Centre. We will give you a tour of the undergraduate labs and teaching areas and show you some of our research labs and facilities.

You can quiz our team of visit guides about what it's like here, and talk infUniversity of Leicester Physics students in foyerormally with members of the teaching staff and current students over tea and coffee. You will be able to find out exactly what you need to know about our courses and teaching and, if you come to a UCAS day, you'll also have the opportunity to talk to some of our current students over lunch in the department.

As part of each visit day, the University organises visits to the Halls of residence and Sports facilities in addition to a campus tour and talks about student life, finances and welfare. We'll send you more details with your UCAS returns, or when you arrange to visit on an open day.

If you have any questions please contact physics_admissions@le.ac.uk.
We look forward to seeing you!
